COVID-19

During this uncertain time, Cedar Livestock Market, would like to assure our sellers and buyers, that our doors are still open, and we are maintaining our regularly scheduled hours.

            We have instituted some guidelines to protect our employees and customers moving forward, and we are adjusting as needed to comply with the current conditions.

 We have received the following instruction from the Livestock Marketing Association:

 “The landscape of closures, crowd limits, stay-at-home orders, and shelter-in-place mandates is ever changing and location specific. One thing that does not change is the need for livestock markets to stay open during the COVID-19 crisis. Americans need access to the safe and wholesome protein supplied by the livestock that LMA members sell and buy every day.

            This need was even further cemented by President Trumps statement: “If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as healthcare services and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.” -Presidential Policy Directive 21.

            Because of this, we are committed to doing all we can to continue operating.

  We understand, and treasure, the social aspect that goes along with the traditional livestock auction. Our sale ring and bleachers are of adequate size, and space, to provide the suggested “social distancing” for our buyers and sellers.  Meeting in the sale ring, or outside, will provide for the safety of our valued customers, staff, and families by eliminating crowding in our lobby area. In addition to our long-time service of mailing checks (that we will continue to provide), we can bring them to you in other locations on the premises at your request.

We trust that this will be short-lived as we all do what we can to stay healthy and continue to provide the tastiest protein known to man, to our country, and the world.

  Rest assured that as always, we will work hard to see that your livestock brings market price, whether you are in the ring or not.
